Judith Weiss and David Shaffer have worked for 28 years to bring their expertise and service to performers ranging from Broadway and Ballet Companies, to students on their journey to stardom. Judith Weiss is well known in the ballet world for her unmatched knowledge of pointe shoes. She began her career as a dancer, helping her to learn the delicacies of pointe shoes first hand. Judith has assisted in the creation of shoes for dancers in lead companies worldwide, such as American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Houston Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet, and countless other renowned companies. Her biggest clients have included Eleanore D'Antuono, Merrill Ashley, Kay Mazzo, Amanda McKerrow, Ashley Tuttle, Michelle Wiles, and Paloma Herrera. Judith's latest contribution to the dance world is her first self designed pointe shoe in the Capezio catalog. Her shoe, the "Prelude" is an example of her vast knowledge and experience as it has risen to one of the best selling pointe shoe for the Capezio Retail Division. David Shaffer earned his BA in Theatre Arts at the University of Northern Colorado in 1969. He taught theatre at the Arapaho College and was a frequent actor and director in the Denver area. RE-locating to New York City in 1973, David began his career with Capezio. During his 28 years, David has worked with some of Broadway's finest. From major choreographers and costume designers to performers known worldwide, he has provided them with Capezio Shoes and customized theatrical footwear. His numerous Broadway projects include the original productions and long runs of Cats, A Chorus Line, and 42nd Street. Due to the increase in demand, the professional staff has grown over the years to now include Jennifer Sandoval, Annie Sivers and Brandon Currie, each bringing with them their extensive dance backgrounds and experience ensuring the highest quality service, fit and style in dance shoes and garments. Primarily handling professional accounts that need special attention, their services are also available for the hard to fit dancers. They are able to create and recreate shoes to accommodate any special needs of the dancers' feet far beyond regular stock shoes. Custom shoes are the specialty.
